SIM University (UniSIM) and MFA-DA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 7 May 2008 to launch the Certification Examination for Professional Interpreters (CEPI) in order to provide official recognition to interpreters who have acquired the necessary skills to serve as interpreters for official occasions. This MOU signifies the co-operation between UniSIM and the MFA Academy in the training of professional translators and interpreters and in the development of the profession. Diplomatic Officers from the MFA participated in the pilot run of CEPI in November 2008.
